Privacy policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
FamiLink is an app for private family spaces. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights. We never sell your data and show no ads.
1. Data we collect
- Account: email address or phone number, password (encrypted).
- Profile: name, photo, date of birth, language.
- Families: families you belong to, role, nickname.
- Content: posts, comments, messages, photos, videos, documents and voice messages you share.
- Family tree: records of people (living or deceased) added by members.
- Events: events and invitation replies.
- Assistant: your conversations with FamiLink AI, to answer you.
- Payments: amount, date, operator and mobile money number used for a subscription, contribution or withdrawal. We never know your PIN.
- Technical: your phone's notification token, online presence, diagnostic information.
2. Why we use it
- To run the service: show the feed, deliver messages, send notifications.
- To manage subscriptions, the family fund and collections, and keep a transaction history.
- To keep the service safe: prevent abuse, handle reports.
- To improve the app.
3. Who sees your data
Your content is visible only to members of the family concerned (or to the participants of a conversation). Media files are private and only reachable through temporary links reserved for members.
We rely on technical providers for hosting, media storage, notifications, FamiLink AI and mobile money payment processing. They use your data only to provide this service to us.
4. Retention
Your data is kept as long as your account exists. Disappearing messages are erased when they expire. Financial transaction records are kept for the period required by law, even after the account is deleted.
5. Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Account deletion is done in the app (see how). For any other request, contact us.
6. Children
FamiLink is intended for people aged 13 and over. A younger child may appear in the family tree, added by a family member.
7. Security
Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Data access is enforced by the server: a user only sees the families they belong to.
